New York Strip Steak

Americans and beef go hand in hand. Our beef originally was brought over by Spaniards in 1534. These founding steers were called longhorns. This is the cattle that you would see in any old western movie. Since then many other breeds have came to America. We have Ayrshire, Galloway, Guernsey, Jersey, Limousin, Simmenthal and crossbreeds. Some were brought as dairy cattle, others for meat.

All Americans know our beef is hearty, deeply flavored and more satisfying than veal or pork. :-) Tender cuts like ribs, trip loins and tenderloins make my mouth water just writing the words.

So with that said I will introduce you to an excellent recipe for mouth watering New York strip steak. You will definitely come back for seconds.

Ingredients

3 each New York strip steak each about 1"thick
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 each garlic clove
1/8 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Trim fat from steaks; place steaks in large plastic bag with mixture of light teriyaki sauce, garlic and pepper.

Press air out of bag; close top securely.

Marinate 45 minutes; turn bag over once.

Reserving marinade, broil or grill steaks about 5 minutes on each side (for rare), or to desired doneness, brushing occasionally with reserved marinade.
