Philly Cheese Steak

  • 1 pound rib eye steak, slightly frozen
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • Mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • Bell peppers, sliced (optional)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional toppings:
    • Mayo
    • Mustard
    • Lettuce
    • Tomatoes
    • Hot sauce
    • Ketchup
    • Steak sauce

Instructions

  1. Slice slightly frozen steak very thinly. Optionally, you may ask the butcher to slice the meat for you.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and add onions and bell peppers. Cook, stirring frequently, until onions are translucent and peppers are softened. Add mushrooms and cook for further 2 minutes.
  3. Add sliced steak to pan and cook, stirring, until meat turns gray.
  4. When the steak is done, place the cheese slices on top of the meat and heat until cheese is well melted.
  5. If desired, toast rolls while cheese is melting.
  6. Serve in rolls with any desired optional toppings.
